The Dream

When I find Mr. Awesome, this is how I want to be able to describe him and our awesome relationship:

I am so blessed to have found the love of my life, a smart, funny guy who is open to living a life with me that’s full of travel, adventures, and doing smart, impactful work. We accept each other as we are and are proud of each other’s accomplishments.

Our relationship escalated slowly over time, so we had the time and space to build a deep, true level of trust and figure out how to communicate with grace and wisdom about things that are important to us. He is patient and open and we have figured out a way to communicate that feels complete. We are completely open and honest with each other about who we are, what we need and how we feel.  This slow progression also let me really get to know him and feel certain that he is right for me—my head and heart are aligned on this!

We are on similar schedules and are content going to sleep early and getting up to work out in the morning. We adore and respect each other’s families and friends and spend a lot of time with them. We have fun together, laugh a lot, talk a lot and sit comfortably in silence. We do different things all the time: hiking, biking, camping, being near water, running around the city, visiting new places, eating good food. We are able to balance adventures and a social life with hard work and a healthy lifestyle. We plan awesome trips together and travel together really well; we are on the same page about most things and are always able to compromise.  While we love spending time together, we both pursue separate interests as well and are always excited to recount them to each other.

We will be together happily until we’re old and gray. He is my great love, everything I ever wanted, and he came into my life at exactly the right moment.
